They will only be sent to plants, building cars for Europe and China, while the US will have to wait.

Electrification of tits fleet is a hot topic at Volkswagen for a while now. After the announcement of I.D. family of cars and its expanding it, company has now released an information about what we could call reinforcement of supply. Putting differently, they have announced a massive buy of batteries and other supportive technology, needed to produce electric cars.

What is the amount of technology Volkswagen is planning to buy has not yet been revealed. It has however been revealed by Insideev.com, that this purchase has been done at several technology providers, which will provide batteries for Chinese and European-built electric cars. Plans for buying technology for US cars has also been made, but they will have to wait at least a few months.

It seems very likely though, that this buy is just the tip of the iceberg and it only goes to show, how much money Volkswagen is planning to spend on electric mobility in the next few years. To put in perception: currently, Volkswagen is producing small amount of electric cars in just three factories around the world. In only four years, there will be 16 such factories, producing such cars and by the end of 2030, Volkswagen – together with all the brands within the company (Audi, Škoda, Seat etc.) – may have a total of 300 electric models of cars in production
