Created by Evil Mad Scientist, a small family-owned company from California, AxiDraw can write with fountain pens, permanent markers, or any other writing implements that you would normally choose to write a letter or draw a picture.
The V3 model has smooth rolling wheels on custom aluminum extrusions and comes with a writing head that extends beyond the machine, so it's capable of creating drawings that are even bigger than the machine itself. Creators say this is a machine for life, but should there be any difficulties, fear not - almost every single part can be easily replaced by the end user.
It works with the help of your computer, but the end result looks like it was in fact handmade. Using a real pen, a greeting card won't look as if printed out with an inkjet or laser printer - instead it will look genuine, as if written by a hand. Speaking of hands - this machine is so brilliant also because it's just like having "an arm that never gets tired," as creators neatly put it.
