Designer says it's not such a far-fetched idea as "Star Trek V began with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy camping in the great outdoors...".

Dave Delisle is a Canadian designer, running funky Dave's Geeky Ideas and he's the one who came up with a brilliant tent for a proper Trekkie fan 'To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before'. It's just a concept at this point, so hold your horses, but here's a little tease at what it may look like if it actually gets produced.

The tent offers enough space for 2 adults, but since there is no Scotty to beam you up, you'll need to think of another Enterprise engineer to accompany you on your voyage into the wilderness unknown. The entrance is at the back, so it really looks like the actual shuttlecraft. For easy transport, the tent is stored in a carrying case that splits apart to become the thrusters.

Dave explained: "This started as a bunk bed design several months back, but I didn't want to keep posting bed designs at the time, so I shelved it. Glad I could do something different for the shuttlecraft here."

'Resistance is futile', so we'll keep an eye on this one as - at least for us - this is a day one purchase!
