(Not only) turists often drink beer on their summer vacation, bringing piles of six-packs on the beach. But not that many care to think about what happens to those plastic six-pack rings once you dispose of them and they end up floating across the sea.

Saltwater Brewery from Delray Beach, Florida, came up with innovative packaging, hoping to make a difference when it comes to polluting oceans with plastic. Together with WeBelievers, they say they ideated, designed, tested and prototyped the first ever Edible Six Pack Rings.

The main principle of the new six‐pack packaging is to feed the animals instead of killing them. It's with byproducts of the beer making process, so it's perfectly edible, 100% biodegradable and compostable.

In the promotional video, Chris Gove, president of the company, said: "We hope to influence the big guys and hopefully inspire them to get on board."
