Mareen Klansek announced the coming of a new, exciting graphic novel. Material for the stories about local superheroes will be gathered on a seven-month-long trip around the developing world.

The artist will travel with the organization Thinking Beyond Borders to visit Ecuador, Peru, Thailand, Cambodia, India and South Africa. Her goal is to help with local organizations and communities to help solve environmental issues, problems of agricultural development, education and public health. She will stay with local families to live, work and learn from the local people first hand, to experience their ways of life and listen to their stories.

But in order to do all that, she needs your help. Before the stories are revealed and they come alive in her graphic novel with a cause, Mareen has to raise 3,000 dollars. She turned to Kickstarter and started her first crowdfunding campaign, where she's doing great. With ten days to go, she only needs to raise a couple of hundred dollars to reach her estimated goal.

Mareen will conclude her journey in Washington to present a report on major global issues, possible solutions and ideas for the future to leading development organizations. The girl's got guts, that's for sure, you have our support.
