Hosted by Watermelon Ljubljana by Bike, specializing in guided city bike tours of Ljubljana, on March 31, participants of the first Hanami cherry blossom cycling tour will be taken on a 'photo safari' around Ljubljana. 

It is an informal, very pleasant and free event! Riding bicycles, participants will visit several locations in Ljubljana, where Japanese cherries blossom in their full, spring time glory.

The places we're visiting include the largest growing area of Japanese cherries in the city, near the city ZOO and Tivoli, the grand, blossoming city park. After a little time to admire the pink wonders of nature and taking photographs, we will all head to 'The Prince of Orange' for a refreshing drink and some socializing. Here also you will be able to observe the blossoms, right through the window or from a terrace, while enjoying your beverage.

Up until Sunday night all participants will be invited to post their cherry blossoms photographs on our Facebook and Instagram profiles, using the hashtag #watermelonhanami – we will select the prettiest ones and award them with small tokens of appreciation.

The Hanami cycling route is approximately 8 kilometers long and it will take us about 2 hours to complete it. Bring your own bicycles and don't forget your locks.

Our journey begins on Friday, March 31 at 4.00 PM. Gathering point: Congress Square, in front of the rectorate of the University of Ljubljana building.
