They have revealed their race car in this year's Geneva car show.

Mercedes-Benz is clearly going towards electric future. They have proven that in this year’s Geneva car show. More than a few electrified vehicles has been presented on their stand, either in prototype or already in production stage of development. However, one of them, while familiar in shape, is some kind of a revolution for the brand, which is entering in a new and so far unfamiliar territory of Formula E. it was a Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 race car.

Being a mean of promoting electric mobility, Formula E is with its gaining popularity and Mercedes-Bnez joinging it seeems like a natural move, especially considering the fact, that there are already other car manufacturers like DS or Audi who are promoting sustainable mobility and are already taking part in this series.

Racecar, presented in Geneva has been wrapped in what they call ‘teaser livery’, which may not be a part of actual racecar, once it gets to the race track in around 18 months. There are hove ever few important elements included in the graphic. For instance, there are two blue lines, one on each side of the race car, that represent Mercedes’s electrified line of cars, EQ. Also, there is already logo of their first sponsor, SAP, company with which Mercedes is already collaborating in Formula 1.

“The Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 teaser car gives a foretaste of the first all-electric Silver Arrow from Mercedes-Benz,” says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler AG. “Blue accents and the subtle contrast between matt and gloss in conjunction with the star pattern at the rear of the vehicle stage the progressive luxury in electric motorsport.”
