Slovenia is hosting the 7th European Robotics Forum (ERF2016), taking place at Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana from the 21st to the 23rd of March 2016.

The annual event first took place in San Sebastian in 2010, but is now famous for being the most anticipated meeting of the entire European robotics community.

Held under the slogan "Robotics for Europeans", this the three-day event will now bring together some 500 participants, including researchers, engineers, managers, as well as entrepreneurs and business people from all over Europe, it gives them the opportunity to talk about topics concerning the present and future times of robotics in Europe.

According to the programme, enthusiasts will be able to discuss the development of robotics in Slovenia and the Western Balkansaerial robotics for inspection and maintenance (ARIM), robotics for logistics and transport, socially intelligent robot and smart cities, autonomous robotic systems, and European plans for financing robotics projects.

Uwe Haass from euRobotics stated for the press: "Slovenia was chosen to host the ERF 2016 as a highly industrialized country able to assume a leading role in establishing a network of innovation hubs which use advantages offered by local and regional know-how and experiences from industry and research."

Among other things, visitors will be able to learn about the most recent breakthroughs in applications (from agricultural robots to health services), new robotic business potentials, voice their opinions, and attend project meetings, 60 business workshops, and 22 robotics exhibitions. The best doctoral thesis and best technology transfer will also be awarded by the forum.
