Now, just about the only thing missing on this coffee table – before sci-fi and real life collide – are the holograms.

From Ideum (New Mexico) comes, as they say, currently the most advanced line of multitouch coffee tables with projected capacitive touch technology. Their Duet series introduces two models.

The first one, the 55" model comes with a 4K UHD (3840x2160) 3M™ projected capacitive touch display (Windows 10 enabled, Android coming later this year), a full-sized NVIDIA graphics card, and a high-performance Intel® Core™ i7 quad core computer. The whole setup weighs 66 kilograms.

The other model is called Duet 46" and has a 3M 46" HD touch screen (Windows 10 or Android enabled, or with a dual-boot option). It's smaller (and almost 10 kilograms lighter), but it also features the same high-performance Intel® Core™ i7 quad core computer and single push button power.

You can use either of the two Duet models in almost any environment, be it public (such as museums or retail spaces, where other series with 4K displays of up to 84'' and 100'' are also available) or private (enjoying the comforts of one's living room). The Duet coffee table can easily dub as the command centre in a home, through which you can control all digital devices around you.

Moreover, if you can't resist having a cup of delicious hot coffee with you at all times, even when browsing through various apps on your mega 4K display, this is, afterall, a coffee table, so yes - you can put your cup down, no harm done.
