The official public announcement said that IKEA will start selling furniture with a built-in transmitter for wireless charging, in the US in the late spring of this year. New transmitters will be built into lights, bedside cabinets and tables, i.e. into a variety of most frequently-used furniture. In addition to that, they will also sell individual mats for wireless charging.

Charging mats of larger sizes will be available, too, so the whole family or visiting friends can charge their portable devices at the same time. Just in case you decided against new furniture, you can simply purchase a JYSSEN (EUR 27) wireless charger and install it yourself into your existing furniture.
