The concept will be piloted towards the finishing line of one of world's most famous moutain races by Tetsuya Yamano, the man who campaigned last year's CR-Z-based electric prototype to its class win. Mated to the NSX body, the upgraded powertrain produces three times the total system output of last year's electric prototype.

The new EV Concept features an all-electric, 4-motor Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) powertrain. With separate Twin Motor Units (TMUs) on each axle, Acura managed to achieve independent torque distribution to all four corners – true four-wheel torque vectoring. With newly gathered knowledge and experience from last year's race, the system management of the powertrain has been updated for more precise thrust at each wheel.

According to Tetsuya Yamano, they've been tuning the car for several weeks at Pikes and have significantly advanced its performance, so it is ready to take on the 156 demanding, complex corners that await driver during the race up Pikes Peak.
