Last week Opel submited a package of measurments call PACE!, which are ment to consolidate its bussines and return it to a path of profitability. In the frame of PACE! they also plan to introduce a new generation of Opel/Vauxhall Corsa, which is supposed to be ready before 2020 and will also have a possibility of an all-electric powertrain.

Back to finances. Opel plans to maintain two percent profit short term and increase it to six percent by 2026. They also plan to lower a profit tresshold to 800.000 produced Opel and Vauxhall cars per year. By the year 2020 they also plan to increase LCV sales.

Increasing profit is just one part of the plan. The other is tightening of bonds with Opel's new owner PSA Group with a tehchnical cooperation, which will lead to lowering CO2 and other exhaust emissions and introduction of new electrified models. By 2020 Opel plans to introduce four new electrified models. The most important among them will be new generation of Opel/Vauxhall Corsa , which will also have a possibillity of all-electric powetrain. Other three models will be hybrids, with hybridized Grandland X to come first. By 2024 Opel plans to electrify all of its models.
