The new cell, named 111 Ah, has the same physical dimensions as the existing 94 Ah battery (used in BMW i3, for example), but higher energy density (due to changed chemical composition and material innovation). There are also the rumors about a 120 Ah upgrade to 94 Ah cell for automotive use, which would greatly increase the range of cars as BMW i3 without penalty in weight and volume. And as the physical dimension and packaging is same as for 94 Ah battery, it will make for an easy upgrade to manufacturing process.
