At the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona later this month, Seat will present a concept of the urban mobility of the future, which was announced with a photo of an interesting light footprint.

The car, which will be presented by Seat CEO Luca de Meo on February 25th, will form an important part of their micro urban mobility strategy and will form a mobility platform for urban vehicles of the future that will not leave urban areas.

According to Luca de Meo, “Mobility is changing, and our role as a manufacturer and provider of mobility is changing with it. We must be able to manage and offer new mobility platforms that will be the key players in cities of the future. Seat is heavily involved in several projects of this type and the Mobile World Congress is the perfect backdrop to make them known to the world.”

Seat also collaborates with telecommunications company Telefonica in the 5G Barcelona project. Barcelona is one of the exemplary cities in the implementation of 5G mobile technologies, so it is also suitable for the 5G Connected Car pilot project, which is intended to test communication between different cars and infrastructure as one of the steps towards the autonomous driving.

Seat will also be presented in Barcelona by independent companies XMOBA and Metropolis: Lab, which are developing solutions to improve urban mobility, including a project Bus On Demand, intended to improve public transport, and a project of car-sharing between different individuals on the same routes.
