Volkswagen I.D. R won another record, this time for electric cars at the Goodwood Speed Festival.  Romain Dumas managed to finish the track in record time of 43.05 seconds.

At the same time, it was also the European premiere of the Volkswagen's electric racer, with which Romain Dumas won the famous mountain race at Pikes Peak at the end of June, and also set up a new record of the track.

The previous Goodwood electric record holder was a British driver Jonny Cocker, who managed to achieve the time of 47.34 seconds in 2013. He was driving a Lola-Dryson electric racer. But the absolute record is still in the hands of Nick Heiddfeld, who managed to finish the famous hill climb in 41.6 seconds with his Formula 1 McLaren-Mercedes MP4/13 car in 1999.
