The Slovenia-based creative team behind MAG-LEV Audio explained: "We wanted to take something close to us and reinvent the entire experience. We wanted to change the way things were done. For months we were exploring what this could be. One day we asked ourselves a question that seemed a little crazy at first. If a vinyl was levitating in the air, could it still produce a sound? Inspired by this curiosity, we decided to find out."

MAG-LEV Audio- fittingly dubbed "a turntable of the future for a medium of the past" - comes with a preset tonearm and cartridge and allows you to connect to speakers through phono in. If you take a closer look at it, you'll see there are also retractable platter feet which allow the platter to rest while the turntable is switched off.  It also comes equipped with a 45 rpm adapter, so users can easily switch between 33 rpm and 45 rpm. The real magic happens with the help of patented technology used in the drive system that enables magnetic levitation.

When it comes to the well-being of your vinyls, the team emphasized that the turntable lifts the tonearm at the end of the record, so the record can't get scratched - moreover, this way also the cartridge lasts longer. The UPS system protects records and the player when yo're suddenly left without power - in this event, the player safely lifts the tonearm, stops the record and returns the platter feet to resting position without damaging the record in any way.

MAG-LEV Audio's Kickstarter campaign officially launched on October 12th and will be active for 40 days. So far, the project already attracted over 700 backers that pledged more than $500,000 of the $300,000 initial goal.
