Seat has registered Born as a car name – and that indicates that it could – somehow connected with letter E – become a name (or part of it or even a sub-brand) for one of their new EVs.

If so, Seat will not abandon the tradition of naming their cars by the geographical names in Spain, since El Born is very vivid and popular part of Barcelona. There will however be a slight change in naming, because El Born is not a city or village, but just a part of the city, which suggests, that electric range will somehow be separate from conventional one.

But Seat Born, which will be underpinned by Volkswagen Group's electric MEB platform and will arrive sometimes after 2020, will not be the first electric car from Barcelona, since Seat is already finishing development electric version of Mii small city car, which is planned for 2019 an is already being tested.
