Polestar 2 will be a premium five door fastback with two electric motors and a battery with a capacity of 78 kWh, which is expected to allow for a reach of 500 kilometers. The car is based on Volvo's compact modular CMA platform, with a 27-module battery pack built into the bottom of the cabin. Thanks to the integration of batteries as a construction element, the designers managed also to reduce the vibrations and noise.
Electric motors will drive all four wheels and develop 300 kW and 660 NM, which will help Polestar 2 to reach 100 km/h in less than five seconds. In addition to the standard suspension, a more sporty Performance Pack will also be available, which will include Ohlins dampers, Brembo brakes and 20-inch forged wheel rims, and will visually differ from the basic version by gold coloured seat belts, brake calipers and valve caps.
Polestar 2 will be among the first cars with an infotainment system based on Android and will provide the basis for a solid and flexible digital environment, of course including Google's services. It will be accessed via voice or an 11-inch touchscreen. Also the smartphone will take the role of a key, through which it will also be possible to access different services and monitor battery charging.
And what about the price. In the first year's buyerse will have to pay 59,900 euros for a special series, and later Polestar will be available from 39,900 euros.
