Volkswagen Group confirmed, that it will start a volume production of mobile electric charging stations, which they announced earlier this month.

As Volkswagen's subsidiary Elli Group announced, they will start a series production of mobile charging station in 2020. The first installations of stations are though planed already for this year.

There were also some details of the mobile charging stations published. They will allow CCS Combo output of up to 100 kilowatts and will be able to charge up to four vehicles at the same time. They will be equipped with a 360 kWh battery system, which will also form a part of the MEB car platform. They will be able to work offline, which will be their main purpose, or can be plugged to an electric grid. The chargers will also be  ready for second life applications.
